Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry just made a surprise appearance on the famous ‘Hot Ones‘ Youtube show. He is currently promoting his Apple TV+ documentary called, ‘Underrated‘. One of the scheduled appearances is on Sean Evans’ ‘Hot Ones’ show where celebrities try to answer questions while eating the hottes spicy wings you can imagine. Many don’t even finish the show due to how incredibly spicy the food gets near the end but Stephen Curry made it all the way to the end. One of the most memorable moments was when he was asked to tell his favorite Kobe Bryant stories and he picked three different ones from all his interations with the late legend.
Kobe’s ‘Baby-Face Killer’ nickname
The three stories he told about Kobe stem from host Sean Evans asking about the ‘Baby Face Killer‘ nickname Stephen Curry got from the ‘Black Mamba‘ himself. He was still quite young when he got that nickname and he truly felt honored for it. Also, he was asked if he could potentially emulate that mythical 81-point game from Kobe. Stephen Curry denied that was even possible and everybody will keep talking about that game regardless of what he does. Perhaps the funniest part of the story is when Curry tried to play it cool when he got a 30-feet three-pointer in front of a defensive Kobe Bryant during the Summer League. Bryant even spanked Steph but Curry did ask for that clip to save it on his phone.
All three stories are cool to hear but this one hits different coming from Stephen Curry himself. The other two staries are also fun, here’s what he said after hitting that three: “I act like nothing happened. So its like the biggest, ‘keep your cool’ kind of moment in your life, because, you know its freaking Kobe. You’re trying to be super chill about it. But I just, you know, drain one from 30 on it. After he picked me up, he gave me like this little a** tap on the way back and I couldn’t even acknowledge that either. I kind of just like knocked him off and act like I was playing on defense. I went right back in at halftime and I was like ‘I need that clip.'”
