A judge has issued a temporary restraining order (TRO) against heavyweight boxer Deontay Wilder after allegations of physical and mental abuse were made by his fiancee, Telli Swift. The order, granted on Monday, requires Wilder to stay at least 100 yards away from Swift and their six-year-old daughter until June 25, when the court will reassess the situation.
Swift, who has been engaged to Wilder since 2018, described a series of disturbing incidents in her complaint, detailing a history of violence and harassment throughout their six-year relationship.
According to TMZ Sports, Swift alleges that Wilder has physically assaulted her multiple times, including choking her on at least five occasions since 2018 and nearly suffocating her by pressing her face into a pillow.
She also recounted instances of Wilder spitting on her, frequent verbal abuse, and coercive demands for sex multiple times a day.
One particularly harrowing incident occurred on April 15, when Swift claims Wilder threw her out of their Atlanta home despite her recent surgery.
Concerned for her safety, Swift relocated with their daughter to their Los Angeles-area residence. She remains fearful of Wilder‘s potential for violence, especially with his recent return from a fight in Saudi Arabia.
