Commercials during the Super Bowl are usually a talking point and one that caught the eye during the dominant game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs was that of telecommunications giant T-Mobile, which changed the usual narrative and focused on Starlink, Elon Musk’s company
In previous years, T-Mobile had used personalities for its advertising, but in its 60-second ad aired during the first quarter of the Super Bowl LIX by Fox, the company put celebrities aside and focused on highlighting its technological partnership with Starlink.
Musk’s company offers satellite connections for calls in what are known as “dead zones” in the United States, and T-Mobile offered a deal with this service that will allow text messages to be received and, in the future, there will also be images, data and even voice calls.
“Anyone who has ever had a cell phone has experienced this problem, and this solution solves it,” said Mike Katz, president of marketing, strategy and products at T-Mobile, in an interview, adding that instead of celebrities, this year “we believed the service should be the star.”
Seal becomes a seal in a commercial
Not only did the Philadelphia Eagles defense put on a show in the first half of Super Bowl LIX, but so did the advertising agencies in charge of the commercials seen on the Fox network, which make the commercial breaks a real showcase.
But in this edition, attention was drawn to a commercial starring singer Seal, who did a special version of his hit Kiss From a Rose.
