Former MLB Mexican slugger Karim Garcia shared through his Twitter account that he suffered a stroke last week, after rumors surfaced on social networks that the native of Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, was hospitalized seriously due to an illness.
At 49 years of age, Karim Garcia explained through the statement he shared on his account that he is still hospitalized, although he is out of danger, after doctors told him that the embolism affected the right side of his brain.
The former Major League Baseball player mentioned in the statement that the doctors are surprised with the recovery he is having, and attribute it to his good physical condition as a result of playing sports all his life.

Karim Garcia’s baseball and MLB career
Karim Garcia was a globetrotter in the baseball world, as in addition to playing in MLB for a number of teams such as the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees and then Cleveland Indians. The Mexican also played in Japan’s NPB and South Korea’s KBO.
In Mexican baseball, he was also a great standout, playing in both the Mexican Baseball League (LMB) and the Mexican Pacific League (LMP) for various teams such as Naranjeros, Mayos, Tomateros, Sultanes, Tigres and Diablos among others.
In MLB, he finished his career with averages of .241/.279/.424 with 66 home runs, 212 RBIs and 352 total hits.
