Evangeline Lilly was one of the protagonists of the popular TV show ‘Lost‘ and the movies ‘Ant Man’, from the Marvel universe, or ‘The Hobbit’, among others.
Her career has been successful, but the actress has decided to make a change at the age of 44. The Canadian announced through social media that she is retiring from the world of acting. “Maybe I’ll return to Hollywood someday, but, for now, it’s where I belong. A new season is here and I’m ready and happy,” she wrote on her personal Instagram account.
Lilly has reacted to a 2006 video shot during the filming of ‘Lost‘ in which she insisted, in all distended, on becoming a retired actress. And so she has. “I am so full of joy and contentment to live my vision today. Praise God, I feel so grateful for my blessings,” she posted.
A new family life now awaits the performer after her last big Hollywood job with ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantummania’ in 2023.
A scary decision
The actress acknowledged that taking this step is not easy, on paper, but she was convinced that it is the right path. “Walking away from what seems like the obvious choice, abundance and fame, can be scary at times, but going into your dharma (Buddhist concept of cosmic law) trades fear for fulfillment,” she insisted on her social networks. At 44 years old and with several recent films, his decision has surprised many and made headlines around the world.

In the 2006 video that Evangeline Lilly herself recovered on her social networks, the actress, then 27 years old, is seen confessing that in a decade she would like to retire from the Hollywood industry. Currently, the actress is married to Norman Kali and has two children, as well as working on a series of children’s books. Her family is her top priority at the moment.
