It’s a great time to be a Commanders fan.

Led by new head coach Dan Quinn and stellar rookie Jayden Daniels, Washington is putting forth its best season in decades, and the Commanders faithful are enjoying every second. “Faithful” is an especially appropriate term given the ups and downs the franchise faced in recent years.

While some fans are re-emerging from hiding, there’s a group of high-profile Commanders backers who were still among the loudest supporters when things were bleak. As Washington enters this new era of exciting football, those fans are front and center.

Who is among Washington’s biggest celebrity fans? Here’s a rundown of the famous people whose cheers will be amplified during the Commanders’ current run and beyond.

Who are the Commanders’ biggest celebrity fans?

Kevin Durant

Born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Prince George’s County, Md., Durant proudly represents the D.C., Maryland, Virginia (DMV) area. With that in mind, his Commanders’ support shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.

Durant may very well be the Commanders’ biggest celebrity fan, and not just because he’s listed at 6-11. Look closely and you may notice the script “R” logo Duant has inked on his right forearm. If it looks familiar, it is one of the alternate logos from the franchise’s days as the Redskins.

An avid user of X (formerly Twitter), Durant has long used his platform to sing his team’s praises. He’s continued to do so through his new partnership with FanDuel and also expressed great joy in Washington’s recent postseason success.

“It’s been a fun ride throughout the season,” Durant said of the Commanders’ wild-card win. “Everybody is (happier) as a fan when it’s low expectations … Hopefully we keep it going next week.”

Matthew McConaughey

While he’s a native of Texas, McConaughey’s fandom of the Commanders is no secret. The origins of his rooting interests are uniquely McConaughey, too.

McConaughey became a fan of the franchise at the age of four because of linebacker Chris Hanburger. As he explained to Rich Eisen, young McConaughey’s favorite food was hamburgers, and the parallel to the six-time All-Pro LB birthed a lifetime interest.

. @Commanders win!! congrats to josh harris, adam peters, dan quinn, the players, and all fans. Been one here since ‘74.Hail!!!.

Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Earnhardt is racing royalty and is a native of Kannapolis, N.C. Born long before the Panthers existed, Washington was one of the closest professional football teams to fans in the Carolinas.

Earnhardt’s love for Washington football was born when he received a full uniform for his ninth birthday. Over 40 years later, he’s as big of a fan as he was when he decided to focus solely on their team.

Onto the next @Commanders

Frances Tiafoe

Born and raised in Maryland, Tiafoe’s regional pride shines through as he cheers for the Commanders.

Much like most Washington fans, Tiafoe reveled in the franchise earning its first playoff win in 19 years. For perspective, Tiafoe was 7 the last time he saw his favorite team win a playoff game.

Josh Hart

Like Durant, Hart’s fandom derives from his roots. He was born in Silver Spring, Md. and finished his high school career at Sidwell Friends in Washington, D.C.

While he’s how in his eighth NBA season, you may not be able to tell by the way Hart cheers for his team. He live tweets during games, attends when he can, and has been ribbed by his teammates because of it.

Jayden Daniels was at the game tonight and Josh Hart, noted Commanders fan, got an IMMENSE amount of flak from his Knick teammates ???

Wale

Wale, a Grammy Award-nominated artist, has made it a point to proudly represent his team since arriving on the music scene in 2006.

Another DMV native, Wale has a history as a football player. He fits the “superfan” archetype as the love is mutual between him and his favorite franchise. In addition to performing at Commanders games, he’s a regular at training camp and receives annual birthday shoutouts from the team.

As loyal as they come

Happy birthday @Wale! ? pic.twitter.com/pRYilBF9zE
