FIFA released a documentary film about the 2022 World Cup that will allow soccer fans to relive the best moments of the World Cup in Qatar.
The official film of Qatar 2022, “Written in the Stars,” was narrated by Welsh actor Michael Sheen while the one-hour, 34-minute documentary is currently available for free viewing on FIFA’s website.
With 172 goals, Qatar 2022 became the highest-scoring World Cup in history
The film takes audiences behind the scenes of the thrilling matches that happened on the road to the championship as well as showing the action in never-before-seen camera angles and reveals the vibrant atmosphere of the competition.
Around 3.4 million people watched the World Cup matches in the stadiums and there was an average of 53,000 attendees per game. There were 400 thousand more people in attendance than in Russia in 2018. It was also the edition with the most goals in history, surpassing the 171 of 1998 and 2014.
Argentina went down in history as world champion
Argentina, led by Lionel Messi, is the reigning world champion as the South American powerhouse beat France 4-2 on penalties in the final in December.
“It is a story written in the stars, a story that follows the 32 teams – including Argentina and Lionel Messi, one of the greatest players in soccer history – that saw new milestones reached on a journey that saw Argentina secure its place in soccer history in one of the most unforgettable matches ever played,” the statement added.

The film, which is just over an hour and a half long, can be viewed free of charge via the FIFA+ platform.
