The French Open, known as Roland Garros, is one of the big four tennis tournaments in the world so just how much can the winner earn from it as they etch their name into eternal sports history?
Rafael Nadal won the competition 14 times but suffered a shock early exit as he battles fitness, whilst Novak Djokovic loses his world number one spot after quitting through injury before playing Casper Ruud on June 5.
That means that one of Carlos Alcaraz or Alex Zverev will get a chance to win this particular Grand Slam in 2024 in tomorrow’s final match. So far, none of the remaining players have ever won the clay-based tournament.

How much money does Roland Garros give out?
Now in its 123rd year, the second Grand Slam of the season, after the Australian Open, will bring in more money than ever before as inflation continues to cause price hikes across the world.
The total amount of the cash prizes will be worth $63,519,219, which represents an increase of 7.82% compared to the previous edition.
The Grand Slam distributes the same amount in the men’s and women’s draws. However, this increase does not occur in the doubles category from quarter-finalists to the end; just like in the mixed doubles draw. There, the champions will receive a total of $2,607,120.
Regarding the men’s and women’s teams, the money to be distributed is divided as follows:

How many points does Roland Garros give?
As it is a major, Roland Garros is one of the four tournaments that distributes the most points on the circuit.
In both the men’s and women’s draws, the champion will take 2000 points, while 1300 will go to the runner-up.
Players who have been one step away from the final; In the semi-finals, they take 800 points.
The quarterfinalists will score 400 points and from there it will go down to 200 points, 100 points, 50 points and 10 points respectively in each round.
