Despite his dominant performance at UFC 312 against Colby Thicknesse (7-1), not everyone was impressed with Aleksandre Topuria’s (6-1) first fight in the UFC. One example was Henry Cejudo (16-4). The former two-division champion sent a message on his Twitter account… which he later deleted!
“The biggest favorite on the card and fought with no intensity. I wasn’t too impressed with Alexandre Topuria in his debut at #UFC312,” Cejudo wrote before perhaps regretting it and deleting the tweet.

Aleksandre, however, proved the bookmakers right as he managed to dominate and control Colby for most of their 15-minute encounter in Sydney. He took a deserved unanimous decision victory (30-27 for all three judges).
Cejudo, who has not fought since Merab Dvalishvili (a friend of the Topuria brothers, incidentally) beat him at UFC 298 (the same card on which Topuria defeated Volkanovski, incidentally… again) also competes at bantamweight and some users on social media have already asked him to dare to fight Aleksandre himself.
‘The Conqueror’, meanwhile, turns a deaf ear to any criticism. “I have ambitions but none of them is to show something to the world. I fight for myself, for my family. I fight for my principles, you know. Let’s give the world the opportunity to tell me what I should show. I feel happy about that, yes,” he said after his victory
