Victor Wembanyama, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 draft by the San Antonio Spurs, has had his official height revealed by the NBA… and he’s grown.
The French prodigy was measured barefoot and his official NBA height has gone from the 2.21m in October 2022 as an 18-year-old to 2.23m, now 19 years of age.
In recent months, Wembanyama’s alleged heights have been published as ranging from 2.18m to 2.26m, officially solving the riddle of the real height without trainers of the youngster who is set to dominate the NBA in the coming years.
The NBA’s second tallest player
With his official height of 2.23m Victor Wembanyama becomes the second tallest player in the NBA, second only to Boban Marjanovic‘s 2.25m.
The NBA measures its players without trainers, causing some to ‘shrink’
Before the start of the 2019-2020 season, the NBA decided that players had to be measured without trainers to get their official heights, which caused some players to ‘shrink’ between three and five centimetres.
