Hugh Jackman will reprise his role as Wolverine in Deadpool 3, Ryan Reynolds revealed on social media. The announced release date for Deadpool 3 is 6 September 2024.
It is a role that requires a lot of physical preparation. Playing Wolverine is not easy, but we all know what Jackman is capable of and how dedicated he is to his work. The 54-year-old actor has shown that no physical challenge is too much for him and his latest Instagram post proves it.

Even Arnold Schwarzenegger, bodybuilder and lover of healthy living, has reacted positively and dramatically to Jackman’s physique. In his post he left him a strength emoji which has been joined by many reactions from users: “It’s spectacular to have Terminator in your team”, “Terminator supports Wolverine” or “Terminator approves of you”.

“He’s only 46. I’m older. But this is not a competition,” Jackman wrote in the post, referring to Reynolds, who is younger than him. Reynolds and Jackman have been in the midst of a social media battle for months to see who is in better physical shape, although the veteran actor has made it very difficult to overcome.
“It’s 6000 calories, it’s about 6000 calories a day,” he said about his calorie intake to Men’s Health.
“I think right now I’m building, like, 4500, 5000 calories.. I wore a heart rate monitor as Harold Hill (in The Music Man) because my trainer said “I need to know what I’m working with here, because I’m trying to bulk you up.” I burned 1500 calories in the show, eight times a week. So she goes: “oh, you gotta eat.” So I was eating 4500 calories a day, it was not pretty. Now I’m just eating and training.”
Diet is a fundamental aspect for actors to adapt to their new roles. In the case of Hugh Jackman, the actor has the help of chef Mario and his 8000+ calorie diet. A couple of days ago, Jackman posted a photo on his instagram showing a variety of elaborate meals including chicken, fish, vegetables and rice.
