US authorities are searching for survivors of the plane crash between a commercial plane and a helicopter over the Potomac River in Washington.
We recall that American Eagle flight 5342, a regional airline operated by American Airlines, from Wichita, Kansas, was already on final approach to Washington DC’s Ronald Reagan Airport when a military Black Hawk helicopter collided with it.
Fox News: A member of Congress, in an unofficial statement, confirmed the death of at least 60 people in the plane crash.

On board the commercial plane were 60 passengers and four crew members, while the helicopter was carrying three US Army soldiers.
No survivors have been found yet
At the moment, no survivors have been found, but US authorities are striving to search for people alive. However, the situation and conditions are not very favorable since the remains of the vehicles have fallen into the river
It is also worth remembering that the accident took place at around 21:00 hours (local time), so the emergency services are working in “very dark and cold” conditions, as explained by Muriel Bowser, mayor of Washington DC.
Trump blames helicopter for terrible accident
Donald Trump showed his anger through social networks
with a message in which he wondered why the helicopter did not change its trajectory when it saw the plane
“The plane was on a perfect, routine approach line to the airport. The helicopter was heading straight for the plane for a long period of time. It’s a clear night,
the plane’s lights were on
, why didn’t the helicopter go up or down, or turn. Why didn’t the control tower tell the helicopter what to do instead of asking if they saw the plane?” the leader wrote on Truth Social.
