Suge Knight claims that Ben Affleck decided to leave Jennifer Lopez after seeing footage of the On The Floor star during her relationship with Sean “Diddy” Combs’, who has since been accused of emotional, physical and sexual abuse.
The 54-year-old was arrested by the Department of Homeland Security on September 16 and has subsequently been charged with human trafficking and racketeering in New York City, whilst being denied bond multiple times.
Some 120 accusations have come forwards claiming that the music executive abused them, including raping or coercing them into sex, although he currently denies the charges and pleaded not guilty before the US District court.
He was also abusive to ex-partners, after video footage emerged of him beating Cassie Ventura in nothing but a towel, leading to concerns for Lopez too who dated him before 1999-2001 and now Knight suggested footage of the pair has taken a toll on Affleck.
“They go raid Puffy’s [Combs’ house and they get all these videos of J. Lo doing this and J. Lo doing that,” Knight, ex-CEO of Death Row Records who is currently in prison, told press. “It’s a white man who got respect in the white world.
“I’m quite sure they said, ‘We want to show you some things about your wife.’ I’m quite sure they headed for divorce because that’s a man who had a good life.
“Great parents don’t spend a lot of money. Ain’t tripping off paparazzi, he’s living his life. He got his own team. She done brought all that extra s**t out and now that motherf**ker. He want out.”
Is Knight’s claim true?
Combs’ homes in Florida and California were raided in March 2024 and whilst Lopez announced in her divorce filing they had been split up since April 26, the pair had marital troubles throughout 2023.
It’s said that Affleck’s sombre mood and miserable personality and demeanor clashed with Lopez’s bubbly and outgoing persona and it was most highlighted during an appearance at the Grammys in February 2023.
There, Affleck, who famously dislikes public events and the media, looked as though he would rather be anywhere else sparking rumors they were experiencing troubles behind closed doors.
