They say you must be very careful what you post on social media. Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews learned this the hard way, although he probably didn’t even imagine what would happen when he decided to snub the frigid Orchard Park weather.
The game between Baltimore and Buffalo was one of the most exciting so far in the NFL postseason. The final score favored the Bills by a tight 29-27, with the Ravens making a desperate last-minute attempt to send the game to overtime.
The meteorologists were correct in predicting temperatures around 8°F at kickoff time, with sleet or light snow. Towards the end of the game, the field was covered in a light dusting of snow, making the ground game difficult and forcing teams to go through the air. Enter Mark Andrews’ tweet.

Just a little snow
During warm-ups for the game, the Ravens posted a message from Andrews on their X (formerly Twitter) account. “A little snow doesn’t bother,” the star tight end said, along with a short video of the player running around in shorts and a tank top.
The game, however, was a much different story. Andrews fumbled twice in the fourth quarter, which made the difference in the final score. The first was early in the fourth quarter. Lamar Jackson threw a long pass looking for his tight end, but Andrews fumbled it as he slipped on the snow.
The second was with two minutes left. Baltimore had closed to 29-27 with a touchdown and was looking to tie it with the conversion. Jackson looked for Andrews just over the goal line, but the player slipped again, fumbling the ball. The Ravens had to kick off, and the rest is history.
Bad luck haunts Baltimore
This is not the first time the Ravens have been eliminated from the playoffs because of a mistake by one of their stars. Last year, receiver Zay Flowers fumbled a ball on the goal line that could have made the difference in the AFC Championship Game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
There were other factors involved in both losses, but the mistakes by Flowers and Andrews had a specific weight on the scoreboard that is impossible to ignore. Now, the Ravens will have almost eight months to prepare and make another attempt to return to the Super Bowl next season.
