John Daly is of the few golfers in the history of the game that can himself a PGA Champion. He won it all in 1991 and has been well respected ever since. However, his journey has become a challenge as of late, especially due to physical issues.
The 58-year-old has pulled out of the second major tournament of the year, something that was not a surprise to many after shooting 11 over yesterday. During that performance, he injured his thumb and that didn’t allow him to continue in the event and that was probably the reason behind his score card.
It was going to be hard for him to reach the next stage anyway because of Xander Schauffele’s leading shooting of -9. Even with the situation as it is, John Daly was having a good time on the green.
Did his ‘diet’ have something to do with his performance?
Reports indicate that John Daly also had a meal and some snacks, maybe not so healthy snacks but he still enjoyed his time,
According to a source, he smoked two packs of cigarettes, four Snickers bars and two cans of Coke during his round, something that is common for the golfer as he cataloged as a laid-back approach to the game.
Fans in social media commented that he “Injured his thumb opening a beer,” “Must’ve been cart path only,” “They ran out of Coke and Snickers,” and “Paper cut from the Marlboro box?”.
Everyone has had a good laugh but that doesn’t mean that people don’t respect him, he will continue to give people to talk about both on and off the green.
