Pirates infielder Jung Ho Kang has been charged with leaving the scene of a DUI accident in Seoul, South Korea, on Friday.
According to Naver.com, the No. 1 news site in South Korea, police in Seoul’s Gangnam section reported Kang was involved in an accident about 2:45 a.m. local time while driving to his hotel. The news site reported he had been drinking alcohol at a Samsung dong ho, and his blood alcohol content reportedly measured 0.084 percent.

The legal limit for DUI in South Korea is 0.05, and can result in a license suspension. The country is considering lowering the limit to 0.03. By contrast, the limit for DUI in the U.S. is 0.08.
ESPN reports the Pirates are aware of the situation, and will issue a statement later Thursday.
Kang, 29, is a native of South Korea and played nine seasons in the Korea Baseball Organization before joining the Pirates in 2015. He finished third in the NL Rookie of the Year balloting that year, and last season hit 21 home runs in 318 at-bats, slashing.255/.354/.513. But in June, a 23-year-old woman accused Kang of sexually assaulting her in Kang’s Chicago hotel room.
Although police investigated the alleged incident, no criminal charges were filed against Kang. A Chicago police spokesperson told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette in mid-September that police were trying to contact the woman, “seeking clarification on several items to corroborate the allegations made.”
