Although she can enjoy all the privileges that her surname gives her, Kendall Jenner doesn’t seem to feel entirely comfortable with the image she has to project to the world. She has always given the impression of going against the tide or, at least, going it alone in the decisions she has made over the years.
In an interview for the magazine published by The Wall Street Journal, the 27-year-old influencer and model confessed that she doesn’t feel like “a Kardashian”.
Far from claiming that she has a bad relationship with them, with whom she is close, she has admitted that “since I was really young, I felt out of place in my family“.
“I’m not built for this by any means. I’m not good at it. I do it, and I’ve learned how to do it,” she said.

Kendall Jenner herself has compared herself to her more famous and well-known sister, Kim Kardashian. “Kim has even said, ‘I used to go to Kitson [a famous clothing shop] on Robertson [Boulevard] just to be photographed. And I think she was made for this life,” she said.
For her, the influencer admits, it has been much more complicated to adapt to this world. “It took me almost 20 years to think, ‘OK, I guess I’m just getting used to it now and this is fine, I get it.
Feels closer to her father
It should also be noted that both Kendall and Kylie are Kim‘s sisters, but only by mother. Her father is Caitlyn Jenner and not Robert Kardashian, like their sisters and older brother. “I understand that I live under the Kardashian umbrella, but it’s weird for me, because I’m like my dad in a lot of ways. I’m a Jenner, in my opinion.”
“I consider myself one of the luckiest people on the planet to be able to live the life that I live but I do think that it’s challenging for me a lot more than it’s not,” she said.
She was referring to the problems of managing the pressure of fame and anxiety she has suffered. But she’s found ways to cope: therapy, journaling, exercise, sound baths and get-togethers with friends and family.
