Sergio Aguero, who had to retire prematurely in 2021 when he was playing for Barcelona and suffered a cardiac arrhythmia, has shared an audio from his cardiologist informing him that he could play football again.
The message from Aguero’s cardiologist announcing to him that he could play football again: “It’s possible. You are doing very well.”
“The way things are going so far, you won’t have any problem playing at some point. Logically we have to do the tests and make you run as if it were a game. And it’s true, when you have the two central defenders… you have to make a fake or something like that, you have to be well prepared. So I would say… get ready, there is some hope. We can say that you’re doing very well and that you have to get in good enough shape to be there for a few minutes. But I see you looking good, you’re doing everything and you didn’t have anything [problem]. We’re going to monitor you a little bit more. In short… It’s possible, yes it’s possible. You are doing very well,” the cardiologist told Aguero, who did not hesitate to share the doctor’s message on his TikTok account.

Could Aguero reappear to play 20 minutes with Carlos Tevez’s Independiente?
Aguero published the cardiologist’s audio after a fan asked her if she would accept a hypothetical offer from his “close friend” Carlos Tevez to return to Independiente de Avellaneda.
“And if Carlitos calls me, what do you want me to do? I have to talk to the cardiologist. Play for 20 minutes. Shall we send a message to the cardiologist to see what he says?”, replied Aguero.
In his comment Aguero acknowledged that when he was active his intention was to have retired playing for Independiente: “My idea was to be able to come here for six months or a year. The idea was to play here and then throw the boots away. That didn’t happen.
Aguero on the arrhythmia that took him out of football: “I felt like I was choking, I didn’t feel pain”
Aguero told Juan Pablo Varsky that he felt like he was “going to faint” when he had to be attended to on the pitch during the match between Barcelona and Alaves.
“I felt like I was choking, I didn’t feel pain,” confessed the former Independiente, Atletico Madrid and Manchester City player.
“I jumped to head it in. They went on the counterattack and I started to get dizzy. I felt like I was going to faint and I wanted to calm down. I wanted to say something and the words didn’t come out…. I grabbed the Alaves captain’s hand as if to say: ‘Stop the game,'” he said.
Aguero recalls that the Alaves captain started shouting and the game was stopped: “When I calmed down, I felt my heart start to beat faster.
The Argentine ex-footballer explained that “at that moment “I had a lot of pressure in my head. I thought it was because I was physically ill and I thought: ‘Sh*t, I’m really sick.
“A week earlier it had happened to me in training but it had only been 20 seconds,” admitted the player from Buenos Aires.
