Along with the actual football being played on the field, there is plenty of pomp and circumstance surrounding the Super Bowl. There’s an excess of media coverage, halftime performances and more.
Ahead of game time, there will also be a couple of performances outside of the typical rendition of the national anthem. One of those additional musical acts will be singing “America the Beautiful”.
Christian singer and songwriter Lauren Daigle will take the stage to perform “America the Beautiful”, alongside jazz musician Trombone Shorty. Daigle is a Louisiana native and will perform in front of millions as the Super Bowl takes place in her home state.

Who is Lauren Daigle?
Daigle was born on Sept. 9, 1991, in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She spent her childhood in nearby Lafayette, located 75 miles east of Lake Charles.
Daigle began singing from an early age, joining her local choir in her youth and continuing to sing at her church when she went off to college at LSU. According to a pervious MTV bio, in her childhood, Daigle’s mother would call their home “The Music Box” because she would be signing at all hours of the day. Daigle recalls her brother begging her to stop singing, saying, “Please make her stop. I can’t hear Celine Dion anymore, Mom!”
In 2010, Daigle began to make an effort to truly pursue a career in music. She was a contestant on “American Idol” in both 2010 and 2012, nearly making it to the top 24 in 2010.
From there, Daigle would have her big break shortly after. Centricity Music, a Christian music record label, invited her to attend a workshop in 2013. At the workshop, the front man of another band had to drop out due to an illness, and Daigle was asked to fill in. She captured her opportunity and piqued the interest of Centricity’s brass. The label officially signed her to a deal in 2013.
In 2015, Daigle released her debut album, “How Can It Be”, which was a smashing success. The album is now certified platinum and cracked the top 20 on the Billboard Top Albums Chart. The album included a song also called “How Can It Be”, which was one of the top Christian songs of the year. The song is now certified platinum as well.
Daigle’s next big success would come with her third album, “Look Up Child”. The album’s success was propelled by its lead single, “You Say”, which spent a whopping 60 weeks atop the Hot Christian Songs chart and won Daigle a Grammy for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song. The album as a whole debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Top 200.
In recent years, Daigle released a self-titled album “Lauren Daigle” and headlined her second career tour, The Kaleidoscope Tour, both of which took place in 2023. She’ll now be in the spotlight once again when she performs “America the Beautiful” ahead of Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans.
