The DC Universe continues to take shape and more actors are joining the cast of DC Studios for different projects, and one man returning to these productions is Jason Momoa, but this time it will not be as Aquaman.
Momoa rose to international fame playing Khal Drogo in the series Game of Thrones, an important showcase for Zack Snyder to cast him in 2016 to play Aquaman in four films, Batman v Superman, Justice League, Aquaman and Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom.
In 2023, when James Gunn took over the reins of DC Studios, both the filmmaker and Peter Safran, the co-CEO of DC Studios, held a series of meetings with different actors and actresses to integrate the projects in film, television, animation and video games.

One of the actors who had boasted about these meetings was Jason Momoa, who on Instagram had hinted that there were projects in the pipeline with DC, but did not say what it was about, until almost two years later.
Mystery unveiled: From the seas to the stars
Through his social networks, James Gunn welcomed Jason Momoa, who will now play the anti-hero Lobo, whose debut will be in the movie Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.
Momoa himself was in charge of confirming the news that Gunn announced on social networks.

Lobo is a cruel alien mercenary from the planet Czarnia. The villain was created by Roger Slifer and Keith Giffen, and first appeared in Omega Men #3, published by DC Comics in June 1983.
Momoa joins the cast of Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, which will be headed by Millie Alcock, Matthias Schoenaerts and Eve Ridley, who will begin filming in January 2025.
This film will be inspired by the graphic novel of the same name, written by Tom King. Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is scheduled for release on July 26, 2026, a year after the release of Superman.
