The Buffalo Bills‘ long-standing struggle against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs continues for another year. Falling short in a 32-29 loss at Arrowhead Stadium during the AFC Championship Game, the Bills once again saw their Super Bowl dreams dashed by Mahomes and his formidable Chiefs squad.
Buffalo had its chances late in the game. Facing fourth-and-five with the season on the line, Josh Allen lofted a pass to tight end Dalton Kincaid, who was open but unable to secure a diving catch under pressure.
The failed conversion sealed the Bills‘ fate, leaving Kansas City to run out the clock and punch their ticket to Super Bowl 2025.
Brittany Mahomes stirs controversy after Chiefs’ win
While Patrick Mahomes shone on the field, his wife, Brittany Mahomes, made headlines off it. Shortly after the game, Brittany revisited a November incident from Orchard Park, where a photo of Kermit the Frog wearing a No. 15 jersey (Mahomes’ number) was displayed hanging from a tree during the Chiefs‘ visit to Buffalo.
“Do we remember this, Buffalo? Absolutely disgusting. So as you go home tonight, I pray we become better people,” Brittany wrote on social media.
The reference to Kermit the Frog stems from Mahomes‘ distinctive voice, which some fans have playfully compared to the beloved Muppets character. But on Sunday, Patrick Mahomes had the last laugh, with his performance on the field silencing critics once again.

This marks the Bills‘ fourth consecutive playoff loss to the Chiefs, with Josh Allen now holding the dubious distinction of being the first quarterback to lose four postseason games to the same opposing quarterback.
Despite winning the turnover battle and holding their own throughout much of the game, the Bills failed to capitalize on key moments, including multiple failed two-point conversions.
