The marriage between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is not so tight, according to a Vanity Fair cover story last week which claimed that the Duchess of Sussex had flouted the idea of a ‘divorce book’ to a publishing house.
It is therefore theorized that Meghan could be looking to “gauge interest” in the possibility of publishing such a book should the couple eventually split.
At the same time, a source has told Page Six that a divorce would be unlikely due to the wealth the pair attract as a couple, rather than individuals.
“Their value is in being a couple,” a source told Page Six, regarding whether Meghan and Harry would split.
The source went as far as to say that they are “obsessed” with each other and are both very ego-driven.
“Meghan and Harry know that they are tied together, their value is in being a couple. Even if they wanted to split, they couldn’t. And honestly, they are obsessed with each other. They are just two narcissists.”
The Penguin Random House, who published Prince Harry‘s well-known ‘Spare’ book back in 2021, claims not to know anything about the Meghan proposing the idea of a divorce book.
“They are worth more together,” said the publishing insider to Page Six. “It doesn’t benefit them to be apart, they have all their deals together. I think the Random House deal is much like the Netflix deal: Netflix just said ‘Yes’ to everything because they wanted to get the docu-series [‘Harry & Meghan’]. So they said, ‘Ok, we’ll take the ‘Polo’ show’ and let’s see what happens with Meghan’s lifestyle show.”

Prince Harry will receive a payment of almost $12 million from Rupert Murdoch‘s News Group Newspapers (NGN) following the news the Duke of Sussex came to a surprise settlement, after taking them to court in an illegal information gathering storm.
The 40-year-old contested that both The Sun and the now-bust News of the World targeted him from 1996-2011, with his attorney revealing NGN accessed more than 100 private investigators to track people for over 16 years.
