In October, the U.S. adult entertainment company Playboy announced it had severed ties with Khalifa following her statements after Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel. In a recent interview with The New York Times, Khalifa defended her comments, describing herself as ‘anti-Zionist.’
She told the NYT, “I said that because there was a scene that was really poetic, symbolic, and beautiful. There was one scene where a fence was being broken down by civilians and children – it felt like the Berlin Wall coming down. That’s why I said ‘freedom fighters,’ because every Palestinian who still has the will to live is a freedom fighter.”
