Scotty Pippen Jr., the son of NBA legend Scottie Pippen, had a brief stint with the Los Angeles Lakers that generated significant attention due to his family legacy.
However, the Lakers released him earlier this October and, while many speculated it was due to his fit within the roster, hip-hop legend Cam’Ron suggested that Larsa Pippen, Scottie‘s ex-wife, might be the reason behind the decision.
“It’s his mother,” Cam’Ron noted.
“Ain’t nothing to do with Scotty. They don’t need that to mess up the game. He got no time. He got waived by which team?
“They got no time. Jeanie Buss and them don’t got time for that nonsense.
“It only takes one call. Michael Jordan calls Magic Johnson, Magic Johnson calls Jeanie Buss, shut it down.”

Scotty Pippen Jr. played in six games for the Lakers last season, averaging 2.3 points per game in just 5.3 minutes.
He was re-signed with an Exhibit 10 contract on September 7, but then let go.
Pippen Jr. had yet to prove himself as an NBA-level talent, despite solid performances in the G League.
At just 22 years old, Pippen Jr. still has time to improve his game and potentially make a comeback.
