The 73rd edition of Miss Universe will be quite a spectacle on Saturday, November 16 in the Mexican capital and we at MARCA have told you the most important and all the relevant information of a contest that will give us the heir to the scepter held by Nicaraguan Sheynnis Palacios.
Before the Arena Ciudad de Mexico is filled with the Miss Universe semifinalists, there are a series of events that are the preliminaries and from there the jury and voters can select their favorites so that on November 16, 30 women will arrive at the event.
This year, the pageant will feature 130 women from all continents. All will be vying to be crowned the successor to Sheynnis Palacios, the current Miss Universe.
Before the final, the organization will hold a series of preliminary events. These include the national costume parade and the preliminary competition. Both events will take place on Thursday, November 14 at 9:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. PT
The Miss Universe 2024 preliminaries
Before the 30 chosen ones arrive at the Arena CDMX, the Miss Universe 2024 preliminaries must take place. This is an event where all 130 participants parade in swimwear and the typical dress of their nations.
Unlike previous editions, this year there will be no gala catwalk in the preliminary phase. This modification implemented by the organization seeks to place greater emphasis on the presentations of typical costumes and swimwear.
During this phase, the selection committee will evaluate the contestants and choose 25 of the 30 finalists. The committee will also choose four additional finalists on a regional basis, representing Latin America and the Caribbean, Europe, Africa, Asia and Oceania.
The final spot in the group of finalists will be awarded by public vote.
