The New England Patriots had a horrendous 2024 campaign, but they still had a few players worthy of recognition for their performance on the field and/or generosity away from it.
At the 2025 NFL honors, the Patriots had multiple players up for awards, including quarterback Drake Maye for Offensive Rookie of the Year, cornerback Christian Gonzalez for Comeback Player of the Year and defensive end Deatrich Wise Jr. for Walter Payton Man of the Year.
New England’s content team followed Gonzalez and Wise throughout the evening and released a behind-the-scenes compilation on their YouTube channel over the weekend.
None of the three walked out with any hardware, but Maye received three third-place votes while Gonzalez received 19 total votes, including two first-place.
It’s very cool to see how these players prepared for the night and how they felt about the recognition they received to even be nominated for these awards. It was even better to see them with their friends and families, as they shared this moment with their loved ones.
