There are even some who have sent them into space so that their loved ones can “float in weightlessness” for all eternity.

However, the wife of former hockey player Johnny Gaudreau went a step further and decided to keep the remains of her beloved partner practically inside her body, who was run over by a drunk driver last August while riding his bicycle with his brother Matthew, who also perished at the scene, incidentally, a day before their sister’s wedding in New Jersey.

Meredith Gaudreau decided to honor her husband’s memory by tattooing the names of their two children and the word “forever” on her arm and ring finger, but in the process she used her husband’s ashes in the ink, in what is now a trend known as “cremation tattooing”.
The tattoo artist shared her role in the healing process
The process is not straightforward, as you must consult a medical professional for authorization and guidance, and so said tattoo artist Tay Nicole Clinch in a post on her Instagram account, with permission from the wife of the seven-time NHL All-Star, as she revealed a little of her story: “Meredith had the word ‘forever’ tattooed in cursive on the side of her left ring finger, as well as the names of her two children, 2-year-old Noa Harper and 11-month-old Johnny Edward, on the inside of her forearm“.
Clinch concluded: “She told me her story and I can say that I was quite emotional when I realized that this was a story that I already knew and that made me cry in the past. This tattoo became an additional way to carry her presence with her along with her babies; thank you for trusting me with something so special and allowing me to play a small role in your healing journey“.
