Lauren Maenner, the girlfriend of San Francisco 49ers star Nick Bosa, opened up on social media about the tragic Learjet crash that occurred in her hometown of Northeast Philadelphia.
Her heartfelt reaction revealed the emotional impact of the incident, which hit particularly close to home.
Maenner, who has been dating Bosa since 2023, shared her grief on Instagram after learning of the crash on Friday evening.
The medical transport Learjet 55 had gone down near Roosevelt Boulevard and Cottman Avenue, just miles from where Maenner grew up. In her post, she reflected on the fleeting nature of life, writing, “Way too close to home. I can’t believe this, life’s so short and scary.”

Philadelphia holds deep significance for Maenner. Before embarking on her modeling career, she graduated from Temple University with a degree in public relations.
Since then, she’s made a name for herself as a successful model, working with brands like Bobbi Brown Cosmetics and SKIMS by Kim Kardashian. Her recent transition to full-time modeling was celebrated by her 29,000 Instagram followers.
The devastating crash and its impact
The crash, which occurred shortly after takeoff, resulted in seven fatalities. Among the victims were a young girl who had been receiving medical treatment in the U.S., her mother, and the flight’s medical team, including a doctor and paramedic, as well as the pilots. Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker confirmed that a seventh person, in a vehicle on the ground, also died.
In response to the tragedy, local authorities opened a shelter at Samuel Fels High School to support residents affected by the crash. At least 19 people were injured as the Learjet, bound for Tijuana, Mexico, crashed into a nearby residential area, sparking flames that spread to surrounding homes.
The tragic event unfolded while Nick Bosa was in the midst of the 2025 Pro Bowl Games. Despite the sorrow back home, he shared a lighter moment with his brother Joey Bosa at the event, engaging fans with an impromptu speedwalking competition during the relay races.
While the Pro Bowl provided a brief distraction for the Bosa brothers, Maenner remained deeply affected by the devastating crash, which served as a stark reminder of how precious and fragile life can be.
