Pamela Anderson has been named ‘Glamour Global Woman of the Year’ by Glamour Magazine, providing an opportunity to reflect on her life and career.
Her reflection highlights a pivotal moment that marked the beginning of the end for her-during the peak of her success in the mid-90s-when a leaked sex tape went public and left her in a vulnerable position.
The incident was a devastating blow for the actress. It caused her “post-traumatic stress,” which resurfaced with the release of the tv show ‘Pam & Tommy.’
The intimate video, recorded by her then-husband, Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee, spread worldwide and had a significant impact on her life.
“I lost my husband, my sanity, my career. At the time, I didn’t realize it because of the post-traumatic stress,” the actress recalled.
“I knew that many things had happened to me that I could have handled differently… in this world, how you manage your career is crucial. And I was in the Wild West.”
‘Pam & Tommy’ brought back painful memories
Two years ago, the streaming platform Hulu produced a series called Pam & Tommy about the scandal, which brought back painful memories for Anderson.
“They never called me. I never had any involvement. I knew nothing about it,” Pamela Anderson said regarding the Hulu series.
She added, “It made me nauseous just thinking about it again when this thing from Hulu came out. It felt like another punch in the stomach that people could find it entertaining,” she remarked about the production.
