- 1/4-time or less: $384.00 per month (or tuition and fees, whichever is lower)
Example: If you’re in school for only 10 days of the month, you’ll receive a prorated payment-roughly one-third of the monthly rate.
For Trade and Vocational Schools (Non-College Degree Programs)
- Full-time: $1,536.00 per month
- 3/4-time: $1,214.00 per month
- 1/2-time: $890.00 per month
- Less than 1/2-time (but more than 1/4-time): $890.00 per month (or tuition and fees, whichever is lower)

For On-the-Job Training and Apprenticeships
- Months 1-6: $975.00 per month

Note: To receive full payment, you must complete at least 120 hours per month in your training program.
For Correspondence Training (Spouses Only)
- 55% of the established course cost
For Special Restorative Training (Children Only)
- Full-time enrollment: $1,536.00 per month
- Accelerated charges: The VA covers tuition and fees exceeding $405.00 per month.
For Licensing, Certification, and National Test Fees
- Up to $2,000 for qualifying test fees
- No cap on national test reimbursement
