Paul Levesque, better known in professional wrestling as Triple H, will headline the WWE Hall Of Fame 2025 class.
According to PWInsider, there was a meeting between WWE employees, Stephanie McMahon, The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels who surprised him with the announcement during the meeting.
“The Game” was totally surprised because even though he is the Director of Content, he had no idea, he was very excited, sources say.
His legacy in WWE
Triple H debuted in the WWF (before they changed the name) in the 90s. He caught the attention of company officials for his great skills in the ring and on the microphone.
He found stability in the company when he formed the group ‘The Kliq’ with Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and Sean Waltman.
When the battle between WCW and WWE was hot, several of his teammates decided to change companies, so Triple H formed another group called “D-Generation X” with HBK and Chyna, a stable that catapulted him to glory.
In 2003, he married Stephanie McMahon, daughter of WWE President Vince. This caused some debate in the wrestling community as his influence in the company grew rapidly.
After an incredible rivalry with Shawn Michaels, Triple H would form another group called “The Evolution”, which would include Batista, Ric Flair and Randy Orton.
His individual career can be summed up in major rivalries with: John Cena, Batista, Ric Flair, Randy Orton, Big Show, Edge, Jeff Hardy, The Undertaker, Daniel Bryan, Brock Lesnar, Stone Cold, The Rock, Chris Jericho, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns.
He also boasts a great showcase as a 9-timeWWE Champion, 5-time World Heavyweight Champion, 2-time European Champion, 5-time Intercontinental Champion and 3-time Tag Team Champion. A crazy amount of championships for HHH.
The end of his career
His last match was in 2019 on a tour of Japan when he teamed up with Shinsuke Nakamura to face Bobby Roode and Samoa Joe.
The reality is that he began to have very serious health problems with his heart and it was not until 2021 that more information was revealed about what “The Cerebral Assassin” was suffering.
He suffered from heart failure, underwent surgeries that lasted up to 15 hours and it was a real nightmare for Paul Levesque, the former wrestler even confessed that he was afraid of dying.
Triple H announced his retirement from the ring in March 2022 and officially retired at WrestleMania 38 the following month with a segment in which he left his boots in the middle of the ring.
“The Game” now has an executive role in the company, although to be honest, he has held executive roles in WWE since 2010. As Executive Vice President of Talent Development, he ran NXT for several years and is now WWE’s Chief Content Officer.
