Christian Pulisic has been unveiled as a new AC Milan player, drawing to a close a protracted transfer saga roughly a year in the making.
Pulisic has signed a five-year contract with the Rossoneri and has even met the Italian media — with whom he had a little fun at his introductory press conference on Thursday.
“Pulisic” pronunciation settled
Given Italy‘s geographical proximity to Croatia, Pulisic took the opportunity on Thursday to properly pronounce his surname — and even offered a shortened alternative.
Italian reporters will have plenty of chances to write about and talk to Puli, as the United States captain has signed a long-term contract at San Siro — despite opposition from an influential figure back home in the US. With Pulisic on one flank and elite winger Rafael Leao on the other, Milan — fresh off a Champions League semifinal appearance — could prove tough to stop next season.
Pulisic remembers the good times at Chelsea
After his Milan arrival was confirmed, Pulisic took the time to publish an Instagram post thanking Chelsea and Blues fans for their support.
Pulisic, one of the last remaining members of Chelsea’s 2021 Champions League-winning squad, scored 20 goals across 98 appearances in the Premier League and won three trophies at the London club.
However, Puli was also left with the feeling that he did not get the opportunities he deserved at Chelsea, and he’ll certainly be looking be prove his former employers wrong in Serie A.
