Those who know John Oliver will be aware that he never cared much about matters of the Royal Family. In fact, he always had a nag for mocking any of them at the first change he got and Queen Elizabeth II’s death is no exception. Before last Sunday’s show on HBO, Oliver appeared on his traditional guest mode on Seth Myer’s ‘Late Night with Seth Myers’.
Every single time something important happens with the Royal Family, he is always there to get his punch lines in about members of the Royal Family. Mocking the Queen right after her passing was no exception, John Oliver seems to enjoy this. He had a speech about the queen’s passing ready but it was sensored in the UK, as all his Royal Family material has been for years. Brits qho are loyal to the Royal Family don’t really like it when anybody mocks them.
On the Seth Myers show, John Oliver explained why he didn’t like the UK sensoring his speech about the queen. This is what he said: “All we said was that Britain is still mourning the shocking loss – right? – of a 96-year-old woman from natural causes. It’s literally not a joke. Scientifically, it’s not a joke. That’s just a fact with a kind of dick-ish inflection, that’s all it is.
“And yet they cut it out, which is pretty s-tty because apparently, all we’ve heard all week is the Queen had this incredible sense of humor. Just nonstop. Oh, she was so funny. Seth, she was so funny. The Queen, she was razor sharp.” But that was only the prelude of another quip that came last Sunday, he had ir locked and loaded for his audience.
John Oliver uses Princess Diana to mock The Queen
In his ‘Last Week Tonight’ show, John Oliver roughly criticized President Joe Biden for saying that the global pandemic is over. He deemed the president’s words as ‘irresponsible’ and ‘complete bulls**t’. He also stated that “you can’t just declare something and make it a reality.” Then he dropped the bomb:
If I declared, ‘The Queen is alive,’ that doesn’t make it true. We all know she’s in the afterlife right now looking up at Diana
