Cora Schumacher, the ex-wife of Ralf Schumacher, has begged the former Formula 1 driver to leave her alone so she can “heal in peace” after their 10-year relationship ended dramatically. Just in July, Schumacher openly declared himself gay with a message on his account after their divorce.
The 47-year-old reality TV star was married to Michael Schumacher‘s younger brother, 49, for 13 years between 2001 and 2014, a decade before the German came out as gay on social media and revealed that he was in a relationship with French business manager Etienne Bousquet-Cassagne.
According to the Daily Mail, in early November Cora began to resort to therapy, because she began to suffer panic attacks, when she discovered and read her ex-partner’s post about his homosexual preferences.
Cora explained that this was the first time she had heard about this relationship and that she had to go to therapy, as Schumacher’s announcement “opened up a lot of old wounds” from the time they were together a decade ago.

Ralf Schumacher’s legal offensive against his ex-wife
For its part, the German media outlet Bild pointed out that Cora’s statements forced the former driver to take legal action to prohibit her from making further statements about their relationship and the sexuality they shared, so they sent a warning letter to Cora’s lawyers a few days ago.
Meanwhile, the television host stated that what she is really looking for is “I finally want to leave my past behind and I want Ralf to let me heal in peace so that I can finally start living my life without worries.”Cora’s lawyer, Verena Haisch, added: “It is quite bad that Ralf Schumacher surprised the mother of his child with his coming out, then attacked her legally and refused to reach a settlement.
“But the fact that he is now issuing another warning to his ex-wife, even though I explained to his lawyer exactly how unwell Cora Schumacher feels and how urgently she needs rest, leaves me speechless. Fortunately, Cora Schumacher is a strong and kind-hearted woman who will recover,” he said.
She said things would end badly for Ralf if he takes the dispute to court over Cora’s refusal to sign a confidentiality agreement. Instead, the lawyer said that her client has all kinds of evidence: “If Ralf Schumacher wants it to be clarified in court whether he was already homosexual during the marriage, and what that meant and what he did with his wife, then we will clarify it.”

Since Cora found out about her ex-partner’s gay preference, she felt very upset because she thinks she “wasted her best years” sharing a life with Ralf, but the former driver insists that she knew he was gay before he made it public.
Messages even began circulating on WhatsApp where Cora allegedly congratulated him on his relationship with Bousquet-Cassagne before Schumacher‘s revelation on social media. She insists she found out Ralf is gay this summer after years of wondering if he was attracted to men, even when they were married.
Ralf has received support from his son, David, who last month told Cora to “leave us alone”, as he claimed his mother has “mental problems”.
