Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Elliott continued to work steadily in both film and television. He played the role of Wade Garrett in “Road House” (1989) and acted alongside his wife, Katharine Ross, in the 1991 adaptation of the Louis L’Amour novel, “Conagher.” He also took on historical figure roles such as General John Buford in “Gettysburg” (1993).

In recent years, Elliott has continued to work on both the big and small screens. He appeared in “The Golden Compass” (2007), “Up In The Air” (2009), and had a recurring role on the popular NBC series, “Parks and Recreation.” He also won a Critics Choice Television award for his work on the FX Network series, “Justified,” in 2015.
Most recently, Elliott joined the cast as a regular on the Netflix show, “The Ranch,” opposite of Danny Masterson and Ashton Kutcher. He also starred in the film “The Hero” (2017), a role for which he has since received much critical acclaim.
