He created the company in 1998 alongside brother Dan Houser, Jamie King, Terry Donovan, and Gary Foreman. Since they started creating videogames, they have launched successful franchises such as Max Payne and Red Dead Redemption. Which are high ranked amongst the best videogames ever made. The Grand Theft Auto franchise was born in 1997 from the mind of the David jones and Mike Dailly, it quickly became a high selling game but it was only a prelude of what was about to come for Rockstar Games as a company. An action-adventure open world format that takes story beats from some of the biggest gangster films ever made. Depending on the title, the Grand Theft Auto series has a little bit of The Godfather, a little bit of Scarface, Miami Vice, and Training Day mashed into it. The biggest title for them was 2013’s Grand Theft Auto V, which sold 190 millio copies worldwide and it’s currently the second highest selling game in history. Just behind Minecraft’s 300 million sold copies. Overall, the entire franchise has sold 410 million copies worldwide. Thus, Rockstar Games is currrently valued at $22.5 billion, according to Forbes.
All this success must be a massive paycheck for Sam Houser, who has been overseeing all the crations at Rockstar Games since he started the company with his brother and other associates. As a result of all this success, Sam Houser’s current net worth is estimated to $170 million.
