Iron Mike Tyson has splashed some of his $20m earnings from taking on Jake Paul on a new mansion, months after the 58-year-old’s humiliating defeat at the AT&T Stadium on November 15.
The former undisputed heavyweight champion cut a timid figure and a shadow of his reputation in front of 80,000 fans, as 60 million people tuned in to Netflix to watch the final performance of his professional career.
Paul simply outclassed him with youth, save for a few moments when the ex-boxing supremo threatened to break the 27-year-old’s guard. The decision was such a foregone conclusion that The Problem Child spent the final seconds of the final round bowing before his rival.
Nonetheless, Tyson got paid handsomely to secure his long-term future and that of his family too; which includes a wife and six living children, after Exodus tragically died in 2009 at the age of four.
Now he reveals he’s spent most of that fortune on $13m a new home in Florida, two months after the night in Texas. Located by Delray Beach, the Tierra del Rey Estates mansion spans 2.7 acres and has a lake close by.
The purchase was completed on January 8 and includes Mike’s full name on the special warranty deed along with Lakiha “Kiki” Tyson (nee Spencer), his faithful wife of 15-and-a-half years.

Cash aside, it was a gutsy move for Tyson to get back into the ring considering his age and the risk of heart and brain issues from punch damage and the extreme cardio of a professional bout.
Particularly considering the ulcer he received aboard a flight that forced the initial date of June 20 to be pushed back by months to allow him enough time to recover.
So despite signing off his time in the ring with a timid defeat, it’s worth reflecting on how far he came just to get to that position in the first place and that’s what he chose to remind his fans of.
“This is one of those situations when you lost but still won,” Tyson said online of his November 15 fight, perhaps alluding to securing his financial future. “I’m grateful for last night.
“No regrets to get in ring one last time. I almost died in June. Had eight blood transfusions. Lost half my blood and 25lbs in hospital and had to fight to get healthy to fight so I won.
“To have my children see me stand toe to toe and finish 8 rounds with a talented fighter half my age in front of a packed Dallas Cowboy stadium is an experience that no man has the right to ask for. Thank you.”
