Clint Eastwood, 94, hides many more secrets than we think. This is what Tom Hanks explained in his latest interview, where he talks about what it is like to work with the director, who in October 2024 will release ‘Juror No. 2’, his most recent film.
Hanks told all about the veteran actor and director on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ as they worked together on ‘Sully’ (2016), directed by Eastwood: “It’s as if Mount Rushmore has just arrived from South Dakota and now you’re working for him,” he began by saying about him.

“When you’re on set you just want to please him, you don’t want him to look you in the eye for too long because he looks at you like that,you know, and you don’t want to experience that. Treat actors like horses,” he said, while imitating the mythical expression on his face.
This is not a negative thing, as he assures that he has everything under control: “In the movies everything revolves around the shout of ‘action’, but here Clint makes a gesture and everyone repeats it, which means they are shooting and then he is next to you and says: ‘Okay, go ahead’. And then you do it and maybe he says, ‘Do it again, one more time’. And then you do it and he says, ‘Okay, that’s enough’. And that’s it,” he explained.
They had all those old movie directors who loved megaphones and attention. He and all the other actors in the cast were on their horses and were supposed to have a conversation, but the shout of action scared the animals, who started to run,” he said.
“One day he asked if, instead of shouting action, they could just tell them to ‘go ahead’ so the horses wouldn’t run away. One did it once, but they love to shout ‘action’. So there you have it, what’s it like working with Clint? He treats us like horses,” he said.
