The Death Row Records purchase announcement was made in February, 2022 after Snoop acquired the brand name rights of the company. He got hold of the brand from private equity giant Blackstone, which still continues to own the label’s master recordings and music royalties.
However, owning the brand’s name gives Snoop a unique opportunity to sell merchandise and release music under Death Row Records.Snoop Dogg’s albums generate a third to half of the revenue for Death Row Records, which is estimated to earn around $15 million annually.
Currently, Snoop continues to work in the music and film industry with the occasional podcast appearance.
