Sofia Vergara is continuing with the promotion of her latest project, ‘Griselda’, a miniseries in which she stars, ignoring the media storm following her interview with Pablo Motos last week.
A few days ago, she endured a controversial interview on the show ‘El Hormiguero’ with host Motos, and this week she spoke with El País. From the first minute, the talk focused on her physique and whether this has helped her or hindered her in the world of showbiz.
Referring first of all to the success of ‘Modern Family‘, she said: “From the first episode I became famous around the world, but I am a Latina who does not look very Latin, and I do not have the same opportunities as American actors.”
However, she wanted to qualify her words: “I’m not complaining, I would be ungrateful, I have done much more than I dreamed, but it’s harder for me to find roles. I can’t play a scientist or a judge as I see myself,” she added.
“When I started on ‘Modern Family,’ 15 years ago, I still looked a lot more over-the-top than you see now. I’m not saying there weren’t scientists like that. But those roles aren’t for someone like me.”
There are prettier women, younger, with more tits and more body than me, but I’m still in because I have shown that I can stay.”
And it is that she emphasizes that since high school happens to her, saying that “all the guys wanted” to be with her. “Since I was very young I know my strengths and I take advantage of them. But if you only see my tits, then the problem is yours.”
