With Super Bowl LIX just days away, Taylor Swift is preparing to cheer on Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs.
However, one of her close friends, Keleigh Sperry, and her husband, Miles Teller, won’t be joining her in the Chiefs Kingdom this time around. Instead, they will be rooting for their beloved Philadelphia Eagles, setting up an unexpected Super Bowl rivalry.
Despite being seen in Swift‘s suite supporting Kansas City during last year’s championship game, Sperry, a lifelong Eagles fan, will be backing her hometown team on February 9. Teller confirmed his wife’s unwavering support while promoting his upcoming Apple TV+ thriller, The Gorge.
“She’s a diehard Birds fan,” Teller told People. “Thankfully, when I was at the Chiefs’ last Super Bowl, they weren’t playing the Eagles.”

With the Chiefs and Eagles set to face off in a Super Bowl LVII rematch, Teller acknowledged he would be surrounded by fellow Philadelphia supporters this time around.
“I’m going to be in a sea of green,” he admitted.
Teller and Sperry’s Super Bowl Loyalty Reaction
Although Sperry and Teller celebrated the Chiefs’ victory last year alongside Swift, their deep-rooted ties to Philadelphia sports ultimately took precedence. Teller, who has been a devoted Eagles fan for years, explained his wife’s strong connection to the team.
“She might be a Southern California girl, but you marry into Philadelphia sports and that is it,” he joked.
During an appearance on the Today Show, Teller further emphasized his confidence in the Eagles, humorously predicting their victory with help from an unexpected source-a puppy available for adoption on set.
Pointing to the dog, he said, “Poseidon is a diehard Philadelphia Eagles fan. He said it’s going to be a close one, but he thinks it’s 31-27 Birds.”
While Swift is expected to be in the Chiefs’ suite alongside Kelce’s family and her close friends, it remains to be seen how she will react to Sperry’s decision to support the opposition.
Personal Challenges for Miles Teller
Beyond football, Teller also addressed a more personal issue-the loss of his Los Angeles home in the Palisades fire.
“We’re doing all right, it’s my wife and I right now,” Teller shared, revealing that his grandmother had recently moved in with them before the disaster. “She was in the house, but everyone is safe.”
Discussing the impact of the fire, Teller noted, “That whole area, that zip code is pretty much gone. There’s really nothing left. It’s truly day-by-day for us.”
On the professional front, Teller‘s new thriller, The Gorge, is set to debut on Apple TV+ on Valentine’s Day. The film stars Anya Taylor-Joy and is described as a “love story under tension”.
While their characters spend much of the film stationed on opposite sides of a deep canyon, Teller and Taylor-Joy forged a strong bond during filming, with both actors attending each other’s scenes despite not always sharing screen time.
“We ended up going in every single day and watching each other’s coverage until we meet,” Taylor-Joy revealed.
As Super Bowl weekend approaches, the rivalry between Swift‘s Chiefs and Sperry‘s Eagles adds an extra layer of intrigue to what is already shaping up to be a high-stakes showdown.
Whether their friendship will face any tension remains to be seen, but one thing is certain, on February 9, Swift and Sperry will be cheering from opposite sides of the stadium.
