Stephen Curry wants everyone to watch his Apple TV+ documentary ‘Underrated’ and is offering fans an offer that is hard to refuse.
The 4X NBA Champion took to social media to announce he is giving fans a two-month free trial of the subscription service so they can stream the non-fictional film whenever and however they want.
‘Underrated’ will be available this Friday, July 21.
What is ‘Underrated’ about?
The film, directed by Peter Nicks, promises to tell the behind-the-scenes story of the Golden State Warriors superstar, who is regarded as one of the most important and influential current professional athletes in the United States.
According to Apple TV+, the film is a: “remarkable coming-of-age story of one of the most influential, dynamic and unexpected players in the history of basketball: Stephen Curry. This feature documentary – blending intimate cinéma vérité, archival footage and on camera interviews – documents Curry’s rise from an undersized college player at a tiny backwater Division I college to a four-time NBA champion, building one of the most dominant sports dynasties in the world.”
Summer of Sport documentaries
‘Underrated’ is the latest documentary-style sports product developed by streaming services.
Previously this summer, Peyton Manning and Netflix debuted ‘Quarterback’, an 8-episode dive into the hardest skilled position in professional sport with Patrick Mahomes, Marcus Mariota and Kirk Cousins as the main protagonists.
Netflix will also bring sports fans the third season of it’s critically claimed docu-series ‘Untold’ in August.
According to the streaming giants, this time ‘Untold‘ will “pull back the curtain on some of sports’ most infamous events, including doping scandals, boxing’s most hated heel, and a football star under scrutiny.”
The 4-episode series will feature Jake Paul, Jhonny Manziel, and Tim Teabow among others.
