Kanye West has once again ignited a firestorm of backlash after posting a series of antisemitic and inflammatory remarks on social media.
On Friday, West launched into a shocking tirade where he openly declared admiration for Adolf Hitler, doubled down on antisemitic rhetoric, and even accused Elon Musk of “stealing his Nazi swag.”
This marks a drastic reversal from his previous apology to the Jewish community in late 2023, in which he expressed remorse for past antisemitic comments and vowed to “learn from his mistakes.”
In a series of now-deleted posts, West took an extreme stance, writing: “I AM A NAZI.”
He followed up with another disturbing statement: “I LOVE HITLER NOW WHAT B*****S.”
His comments sparked widespread condemnation from both fans and public figures, many of whom expressed disbelief that he had doubled down on hateful rhetoric after previously trying to rehabilitate his image.
Elon Musk targeted in bizarre accusations
In addition to spreading antisemitic propaganda, West targeted Tesla CEO Elon Musk, claiming that Musk had mimicked Nazi imagery during former President Donald Trump‘s recent inauguration rally.
“Elon stole my Nazi swag at the inauguration yoooo my guy get your own third rale,” West posted.
While it’s unclear what exactly West was referring to, the bizarre accusations immediately drew scrutiny, especially given Musk‘s previous interactions with West and his controversial stance on content moderation on X.
West‘s latest tirade comes just months after he publicly apologized for his past antisemitic remarks.
In December 2023, following the reactivation of his Instagram account, West issued an apology.
“I sincerely apologise to the Jewish community for any unintended outburst caused by my words or actions. It was not my intention to hurt or demean, and I deeply regret any pain I may have caused,” he said.
At the time, his statement was seen as an attempt to rebuild his public image after losing lucrative partnerships with Adidas, Gap and several other brands due to his previous antisemitic remarks.
