Their latest 9-7 victory against the Boston Red Sox at Tropicana Field put them within one win of joining the Atlanta Braves of 1982 and the Milwaukee Brewers of 1987 as the only teams to reach 13 wins in this era of the World Series.
Randy Arozarena shined in the game, hitting his third home run of the year and driving in three runs against Boston’s starting pitcher, Chris Sale, in the first inning. Arozarena also brought Wander Franco home plate in the eighth inning with a sacrifice fly, tallying four runs batted in, and contributing to his team’s victory.
The game also saw Taj Bradley, Tampa Bay’s top pitching prospect, make his Major League debut. Bradley threw five innings, allowing three earned runs, five hits, and striking out eight batters. His performance earned him the win and solidified his position as a top pitching prospect for the Rays.

The Rays’ victory also marks the best winning streak at any point in a season in the history of one of the youngest franchises in all of Major League Baseball.
The Rays are now set to make history in their upcoming game against the Red Sox on Thursday, with a pitching matchup that will see Corey Kluber on the mound for Boston and Jeffrey Springs for Tampa Bay.
