Everything indicates that businessman Mark Zuckerberg wants not only to align himself with the new government of Donald Trump, who arrives at the White House in a second term, but that he has always been a conservative and that all the changes he made in his business environment on issues of inclusion and equity and diversity, were more to be ‘politically correct’ than out of a real conviction, according to many.
With just a few days to go before Donald Trump’s inauguration, it was revealed that Meta, Facebook’s parent company owned by Zuckerberg, is making some changes in this sensitive area, which according to Janelle Gale, Meta’s vice president of human resources, is “constantly changing.”
This type of measure is designed to promote fair and consistent practices to reduce bias across groups, and to align with the legal and policy landscape around diversity, equity and inclusion efforts in the United States
The measure that received equal support and criticism
According to this new ‘policy’, Zuckerberg and his human resources department decided to remove the tampons that were once placed in men’s bathrooms at his company, in order to make them available to non-binary and transgender employees. This measure was controversial at the time, and its abolition was also controversial, as comments, both positive and negative, were quick to appear on social networks, and were in turn amplified by the media
In general, those who applauded the move argued that it reflects ‘common sense’ and is a ‘return to normality’, while its detractors accused a setback that shows that Zuckerberg’s intention to make his company an inclusive space was always a lie at heart.

Meta also announced the end of its fact-checking program in the United States, which will be replaced by a community notes system inspired by the model used by Elon Musk’s X.
