This Saturday, March 2, UFC Vegas 87 will take place, with the headlining bout featuring Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Shamil Gaziev in a heavyweight clash.
Everything is ready at UFC Apex after the fighters passed the weigh-in without any problems. During the weigh-in ceremony, ‘Biggi Boy’ weighed in at 257 pounds, while Gaziev clocked in at 261 pounds.
Rozenstruik is ranked 12th in the division, and with this fight we will be able to see where Gaziev stands, an undefeated fighter who has a winning streak. Meanwhile, his opponent is not going through his best moment, but he has great knockout power that could make the difference.
What will be the next UFC fight?
Next weekend’s UFC 299, the event to be held at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, will feature a bantamweight title fight between Sean O’Malley vs Marlon Vera 2.
‘Sugar’, the current divisional champion will put his title on the line against the Ecuadorian fighter ranked 5 in the rankings.
The two previously met at UFC 252 in August 2020, where Vera won by first round technical knockout.

‘Sugar’ conquered the top of the division by defeating and knocking out Aljamain Sterling in August, claiming the title with a second round knockout victory.
The 29-year-old American is undefeated in his last six fights, with a 17-1 record and one no contest.
Vera, meanwhile, comes into his first UFC title fight having won five of his last six fights, and after a unanimous decision victory over Pedro Munhoz at UFC 292 in Boston the same night O’Malley won the title.
The Ecuadorian ranks slightly further back in the rankings than most recent title contenders, but handing the champion the only loss of his career earned him a fast-track to a championship opportunity, the UFC website notes.
Meanwhile, the co-main event bout will feature light heavyweights Dustin Poirier and Benoit Saint Denis.
