Retail giant Walmart has launched a major series of changes to its branding, store appearance and overall approach, with the aim of “evolving to show a modern identity, highlighting the brand identity it currently has, but remembering what has always been special about this self-service chain,” the company said in a press release
“The business has grown to meet the changing needs and wants of its customers, from affordable prices to digital offerings, health services and more. This updated brand identity will better represent who Walmart is today,” the document adds, which speaks of five main pillars for all these changes, which are expected to be ready and visible from February
Brand image update
Walmart will implement an updated logo as part of its rebranding: “The logo is inspired by Sam Walton’s classic trucker hat and comes to life with a modern, custom font that sets Walmart apart from the rest,” the chain says.
And he adds: “The spark radiates the energy of the chain and remains a beacon that guides customers through all facets of the Walmart experience. The color palette (True Blue and Spark Yellow) builds on the retailer’s most recognizable tones and its blue heritage, while introducing new updates to keep the brand fresh.”

Store remodeling
Walmart expects to offer a new look, thanks to its store remodeling policy across the country:
“Our new and remodeled stores will reflect the Walmart Store of the Future concept, with enhanced designs, expanded product selections and innovative technology to help our associates better serve our customers and make shopping more convenient and enjoyable,” said John Furner, president and chief executive officer of the chain.“Guests love this concept in the locations where we have already implemented it, and we are excited about the transition of more and more of our fleet,” he said.
Expand the universe of potential customers
Walmart is trying to attract shoppers with greater purchasing power by expanding its e-commerce offering and offering high-profile brands, including Apple. “Today’s Walmart is very different from what it was several years ago,” the retailer’s chief financial officer, John David Rainey, told Fox Business in an interview
He noted that the new strategy seeks to implement changes that “attract a much broader demographic group than we have historically had.”
