The FIFA Women’s World Cup has started with great excitement but it also highlights the presence of a player who has triumphed beyond the pitch. Alisha Lehmann, the most-followed player in the world on social media, leads the Swiss national team as a striker.
The skilful and lethal striker is just 24 years old. Her spectacular and well-groomed image has made her professional career a success. Goals and assists are her calling card and that has led her to shine in one of the world’s most prominent tournaments: the Barclays Women’s Super League (England’s Premier League).
After her time at Everton, she is now with Aston Villa where Lehmann has made a name for herself as one of the best players in the world. Not to mention the fact that she has a huge following on social media, where she has amassed millions of followers.

Formed in the youth academy of one of the most important clubs in her country, BSC Young Boys, Alisha showed her talent from an early age.
Then, in 2016, she made the leap to the Swiss courts to prove her ability. She was immediately snapped up by English club West Ham United. It was there that she was able to make a name for herself worldwide. Constantly referred to as the ‘most beautiful footballer in the world’ and the like, the striker made it to the Swiss senior national team before she turned 18.
Her rapid rise, beyond her physical attractiveness, made her a standard-bearer for women in football.
She signed for Everton in 2021, but failed to make the transition and was immediately transferred to Aston Villa, where she is currently doing very well.

Alisha Lehmann is looking to shine at the Senior Women’s World Cup with Switzerland. Although they made their debut with a win over the Philippines in the group stage, the striker did not score. But it is hoped that in the following matches she can celebrate and continue to prove that beyond being the most famous footballer on social media, she has enough quality to succeed in Australia/New Zealand 2023.
