The tennis calendar is packed with superb and historic events, but none of them capture the imagination of the public quite like Wimbledon.
South west London hosts the tournament which runs from July 2 until July 16 and sees many of the best tennis stars in the world face off.
The action starts off with few of the massive names you may recognise as there are qualifying rounds for those who were not guaranteed a place in the main draw of the Wimbledon Championship.
After that, the main draw takes place with all of the big names, and these are the matches that all take place at Wimbledon proper.
What is the format of the Wimbledon Championship draw?
There are singles and doubles events that are drawn, with both men and women competing.
The draw is split into four rounds and anyone who wins all of their matches will end up in the quarter-finals.
They are followed, of course, by the semi-finals and the finals, the format being the same for men, women, doubles and wheelchair players.
How many sets do you need in the Wimbledon final?
The way to win a tennis match at the Wimbledon Championship remains the same throughout each round but it differs for both men and women.
In the men’s final, the winner will be whoever gets the best of five sets. That means that, if somebody wins the first three sets, the match will end as, with only two sets left to play, the opponent cannot draw level.
For the women, they play the best of three sets. The principle remains the same, but the matches finish sooner as a player just needs to win two sets in order for the game to end.
To win a set, you need to win four points before the opponent to give you a game, and then six games then get you a set as long as you are leading by multiple games.
