WWE’s yearly schedule of big events kicks off this Saturday, January 27th with the Royal Rumble 2024, from Tropicana Field in Tampa, Florida, which will mark the beginning of a road full of adrenaline and excitement on the road to WrestleMania.
In addition to the Royal Rumble, the other big events on the WWE calendar are SummerSlam, Survivor Series and WrestleMania. The quartet makes up the cornerstone of the WWE calendar and most storylines are shaped to culminate at one of those four events.
The 2024 version of the Royal Rumble will be the 37th edition of the showpiece event, which in the United States will be shown exclusively on Peacock.
The traditional battle royal between 30 superstars is one of the moments that fans are most excited about and look forward to as the winner is guaranteed a shot at the WWE championship of their choosing.
Among the wrestlers who are guaranteed to be there, in addition to the never-ending surprises, are Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Shinsuke Nakamura, Bobby Lashley, Drew McIntyre, Brock Lesnar and Gunther.
CM Punk returns to the Royal Rumble after 10 years and does so as the favorite to win it and claim his ticket to the main event match at WrestleMania, something which he has always felt he deserved throughout his first run with the company.
Drew McIntyre versus Cody Rhodes is expected to feature within the match, plus an unmissable duel between the two physical specimens known as Brock Lesnar and Gunther, all four of whom are also serious contenders to win the battle royale.
The identity of the remaining participants is still a mystery, with some names scheduled to be revealed during the week on the company’s television shows ‘Raw’ and ‘Smackdown’, while others will remain surprises until Saturday itself.
Who will win the women’s rumble?
In the women’s category, an exciting battle royal will also take place.
Although the list of confirmed participants is smaller compared to the men’s division, big names have already been announced, including Bayley, Nia Jax, Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair. The women’s competition promises to be just as intense and full of surprises.
There are several strong contenders to win with Bayley as the favorite, although Becky Lynch is also raising her hand for the win.
